Evaluation & Review

overview-

Evaluation and Review supports assessment at all levels of the University, from individual classes to entire curricula. E&R provides services that support both summative evaluation (for administrative purposes) and formative evaluation (for diagnosis and development). At the curricular level, E&R assists schools and departments in reviewing academic programs and assessing learning outcomes. E&R also conducts research to assess institutional needs or problems (e.g., teaching and learning in large classes). For instructors, E&R provides individualized help in the evaluation of teaching, course design, and student learning.

goals

The Evaluation and Review staff work to: 1) promote assessment of all aspects of the instructional enterprise; 2) provide individualized help for teachers to improve their teaching performance; 3) assist in the development or improvement of programs and curricula; and 4) investigate institutional issues to inform decision-makers and improve instruction at UNC-CH.
